Quartz ceramics
Quartz ceramics based on amorphous silica (SiO2) has an exceptional set of properties:
- Exceptional heat resistance
- High purity
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Low density
- Preservation of strength in a wide range of temperatures
- Excellent glass resistance
- Low thermal expansion coefficient
- Dielectric properties
All these combinations make the material irreplaceable in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant, electrical insulating and heat-resistant products for a wide variety of industries.
Main applications:
• Feeder glass (bowls, plunger, bushings, glasses)
• Oversized crucibles and agitators for pot furnaces, responsible furnace lining elements
• Crucibles, boats, cuvettes for melting optical glasses, melting non-ferrous and precious metals
• Shafts for glass tempering lines
• Cases for thermocouples
• Shibera
• Burner blocks and stones
• Agitators
• Dies, glasses for steel pouring
• Laser reflectors
• Lining
• Insulators
There are two main types of quartz ceramics based on amorphous silica:
- АМК-0
High purity material for use in optical glassmaking
- АМК-1
Recommended for use in non-ferrous and precious metallurgy.
