Ceramic coatings
Ceramic coatings are usually applied to steel surfaces by the method of plasma, gas-flame and gas-dynamic spraying to improve hardness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties.
Ceramic and carbide coatings protect the equipment from wear and corrosion, increasing their productivity and durability and reducing production costs.
Other things being equal, the cost of a steel product with a ceramic coating is substantially lower than the cost of a completely ceramic product. Often the all-ceramic product is very difficult or impossible to produce because of the complex geometry of the product or its large dimensions, in such cases it is also advisable to use ceramic coatings. The disadvantages of the coating include its small thickness and the presence of porosity.
